HELP SAVE THE LIVES OF
COUNTLESS WHALES AND DOLPHINS
AND OTHER DENIZENS OF THE SEAS

We have a unique opportunity to reach the US Congress with a letter and a video tape about the US Navy's Low Frequency Active Sonar (LFAS) system, and its extreme dangers to whales, dolphins, and other inhabitants of the world's oceans. As you probably know, the US Navy would like to deploy LFAS with its excruciatingly loud and intense sounds in 80% of the world's oceans. Recent tests of the Navy's active acoustic technologies have been implicated in the stranding of 17 cetaceans in the Bahamas.

The Animal Welfare Institute has drafted a letter to the US Congress in this regard. Thirty Three (33) different animal rights organizations and environmental groups from all over the planet have already signed on to this letter. It will be delivered to all US Senate offices on Wednesday, May 17th, and to the offices of all US Representatives on Wednesday, 5/24, along with an investigative report on LFAS by the Earth Island Institute.

All Senators and Representatives will also receive an excellent 10 minute video tape along with the letter and report. The tape is a copy of a special report filmed by San Francisco's KGO TV News team (ABC TV in SF) called "When The Whales Stop Singing."
